Random Thought: Cereal & Milk

So here I am, second day back to work and my mind already wanders to nothingness. I'll take an Eric Estrada (aka Pina Colada) and sit by the pool for a few more hours please...

Anyway, I'm sitting in my office having a nice cup of coffee, extra nice today as it was very labour intensive, as not only did I brew the entire new pot, but I had to open the new coffee canister - ugh). Anyway, along with my coffee I'm having a nice bowl of Kelloggs Frosted Flakes. I love cereal, but I rarely look Tony up, and I forgot how Grrrrrrrrreat! They are. Or more specifically with Frosted Flakes, how delicious the milk is upon completing the soggy flakes. Anyway, the point to this thought numbing post is to get your take on: not only your favourite cereal...but your favourite post cereal milk.

Enjoy.

US NCAA Commercials

College Football is funny. Here are a few reasons why:

This one's for Robbie:

Enjoy.

We're Back....

All the pictures and stories will follow shortly. Just getting back into the swing of things.

I've been saying this as a whole regarding our experience:

"It's expected with a group of 27+ that a few things will go wrong. And our group was no different. In fact a lot of things did go wrong, start to finish. But you will be hard pressed to find any one of us that as a whole didn't have one of, if not the, greatest time(s) of our lives"

Anyway, feel free to check back into the blog as I am now back, and as always I'm looking to waste away time. The stories will come; some will make sense, some won't. Some will define good story telling, others will end with 'you had to be there'.

As for the pictures, they are slowly but surely making their way to my picture dump. I will post that address shortly for the world to see.

Can't wait to see you guys all on the 24th, for the biggest, baddest party of the year!

Year in Review: Part II

In part two of my yearly recap, you will learn a little more, perhaps too much, about one of my quote "Man Crush's". Most of you may know about Jeff Probst, but like many 13 year old girls, and most 50 year old women, I love me some Jon Bon Jovi. Not sure where the fascination comes from really, perhaps since it's one of my Brothers favorites as a kid, I simply became a fan via osmosis. Or perhaps JBJ just seems like a cool dude who made it big doing what he loves, and made some fun music along the way. Can you go to a Karaoke Night without someone attempting one of these tunes? Either way, on January 30th, I made sure I was amongst the crowd at the Air Canada Centre for the "Have a Nice Day" tour. It was also the exact same day Richie got the boot from Heather - such drama.

Liz and I pose for a nice picture while at the concert. Did you know our very first date was at a concert in this building? An Our Lady Peace concert that I won tickets for from the Edge.

PS - That's my "I'm done with work, about to be unemployed, fuck shaving look".

Yup. That's right. This is the very set list the band used. In fact it less than 10 minutes before it got into my hands, was in the hand of Jon himself. I didn't even have to throw my panties on stage to acquire it. As for the girl it belonged to sitting beside us, that's another story.

Now, before you post and make fun of me (remember I do have incriminating photos), I dare you, just dare you, not to sing the remainder of this song once it ends. If you can honestly not sing the next few lyrics, then post away.

Snow Day - Memories

Well I asked for it. 2 weeks ago I said "Where the Fuck is Winter?", and today, in all it's miserable glory, it arrived. Traveling no more than 50 kph on the 407 today, 90kph less than usual, I arrived on time for work. Not coming to work? Everyone else I work with. So I'm going to have a pretty quiet day around the office, getting things organized for a very busy next week - 3 programs all come together at once and will require presice knowledge to organize, and since I run these programs that person is me. But I will be lying on the Beach in the Dominican Republic, thinking nothing of the job I left behind for a week. Sweet.

Anyway, the point to this post is to relive some of the best "Snow Day" memories. I know a lot of you experienced the "Ice Days", and although that was a little extreme, I bet still fun.
Me - I actually liked going to school on these days. There were 40 kids in the whole school, 30 of which bugged the teachers to play floor hockey, that usually worked and killed 3 hours of the day. The rest of the day was spent playing various board & card games, chess, euchre, asshole... Better than a day at home watching Price is Right and suffering through that 12 - 3:30 pm stretch where nothing was on.

Anyway although I will get some work done today and I will probably not partake in a floor hockey tournament, there is an element of fun around the office. Only if it's because today, the kids rule the school.

Year In Review: Part I

2006 was by all accounts a busy year. I got engaged, left a great job or more specifically had a great job leave me at the end of 2005, found another great job, spent nearly every second of my summer with friends and at various cottages, and taking part in things I absolutely love doing (golf/fishing/poker/lounging etc.) moved into a much better situation, and in general from start to finish, would consider 2006 my favourite year of existence. I was even named Times "Person of the Year". I'll take you from time to time through my 2006 highlights, for now lets start at the beginning with January, and more specifically the first 3 seconds:

This video will show you the final 7 seconds of 2005, and the first 3 seconds of 2006. The remaining 2 minutes of footage on this video will remain in my safety deposit box.

_________________________________________

2006 parties came fast and often which is all part of the enjoyment. My new fiance and her best friend turned 30 within the same week, and my fiances best friends' husband, who happens to be my best friend, threw a big party at one of the hottest downtown night clubs for them. And thanks to the great job that gave me ample notice of my departure, and ample time to utilize my corporate VISA card before officially being sacked, the party was a big success. The first order of the night: 2 40's of Vodka, 1 26er of Rye, 1 26er of Rum with tip, nearly $1,000. That's a lot of money booze. Thank goodness we had 35 of our closest friends there that night to help.

I recall walking around the party attempting to be involved in a successful "That Guy" picture. Well, it's pretty obvious I was more than successful with this Gem. I'll call it "4 Gorgeous Ladi...hey who's that guy?"

The party continued well into the morning, and against my dragged across a parking lot will, this lovely picture was taken. My Bride and her best friends.

Sure there are a lot of pictures in between those two, but most of them shouldn't be shown, as they are the reason parties become classics or the phrase "What Happens @ the Party, stays @ the Party" was invented. Friends that had too much to drink, friends that got escorted out, some that got into a fight on their way out, and a lot of the other pictures involve my female friends kissing other female friends! And those too will remain in my safety deposit box...until blackmail or profit is required.

That's the first 15 days of my 2006 January - we're off to a good start. More to come .

Classic Forward

Received this for this first time in a few months today. Funny funny funny!

Enjoy.

Oilers Comeback

Sports overload I know, but there seems to be a lot going on. And these posts are quicker than thoughtful ones, I'll do some of those soon enough. For now enjoy one of the most interesting finishes in Hockey History.

PS - If Edmonton only makes the Playoffs by one point this year, remember this play.

Super Bowl Ad Competition

Go Craig Go

This actually would be a pretty super commercial.

What Global Warming?

So it's January 3rd today and well, a question has to be asked. Where the Fuck is Winter? I have the SWEETEST ravine/pond across from my house that in theory would make the best outdoor rink in the history of shiny, but 600 Canada Geese are still bathing in it as if it's the middle of July.

I did however have to roll down my windows to make a left turn this morning from the frost on my car - I refuse to put the car into the Garage until necessary, and from the looks of things that may still be a while.

Holy Tostitos!

There are very few things you need to see a certain way. For instance, not watching Star Wars on the big screen back in the day would have been criminal. And in my previous post, watching Dick In A Box on SNL Live turned out to be extra entertaining, as email forwards from all usual sources flooded my inbox the next few days with youtube versions. And last night, around 1am the best 3 minutes of Football History took place in the BCS Tostito's Fiesta Bowl. And I'm glad I got to witness it Live. The best I can do for you is present you the youtube version Google Video link at the bottom.

Setup:

Oklahoma State, rated number #5 in the Nation, went up against a little school from Idaho, the Boise State Broncos, a team that was supposed to have no chance in this game. But the Broncos found themselves up 14-0, and 28-17 late in the game. Oklahoma, after a FG making the game 28-20, had less than 2 minutes to tie the game with a TD and a 2pt Conversion. Who knew the rest would contribute to about the best finish in Football history.

Enjoy.

Fuck'n youtube and their "ethics". Anyway, here is a link on google video.

Addicting Game Alert 3: Monkey Cliff Diving

I mastered this game during the Summer months of 2006, but that was pre-blog. So, lets revisit one of my favourite flash games ever: Monkey Cliff Diving.
